Finding New Uses for Heritage Assets 3

Continuing the theme of how heritage assets can be saved, repaired, refurbished and given new roles in their local communities

As communities and developers are increasingly recognising the value of heritage assets, this webinar looks at case studies of how to bring a new lease of life to their futures.

Whether these are large estates, notable civic and community buildings, or redundant but once functional buildings and sites of local importance, there are a variety of ways to secure their futures. This includes funding for projects, building a strong and visionary team, and drawing new audiences in to both appreciate their heritage, but also derive benefits from their re-use.

Speakers on Tuesday 7 February 2023:

  • Welcome & Introduction, Louise Thomas, HTVF Director
  • How can heritage assets spur local economic development and generate ‘Cathedral thinking’ over short-term fixes? Matthew Mckeague, Chief Executive, The Architectural Heritage Fund
  • The Flaxmill Maltings Project, Shrewsbury, Alastair Godfrey, Project Lead, Historic England
  • Working with Heritage Assets, Craig Huddart, Managing Director, Rocket Heritage & Archaeology
  • Abingdon Abbey Buildings: The journey so far, Bryan Brown, Chair, Abingdon Abbey Buildings Trust.
